It's all John's [link] fault! LOL Seriously though, He made a great and valid point on his Journal. I urge you all to visit and read it and follow the Links.

We always say something and then we have to add "the reason for the Season". I don't know about most of you but, IMOO......In my own Opinion, most people say that phrase without even thinking about what it means. So...I am going one step further and going to tell you what "The Reason for the Season" really stands for.

Besides the obvious, It's not about Gifts and who can outdo the other.

It's not about the food that you stuff yourself with and end up hating yourself because you ate too much and gained all that weight that it is going to take the rest of the year to lose.

It's not about all the wasted money on "gifts" that either don't work, require "batteries" that cost a fortune, or items that don't last.

You want to give a "Gift" that lasts???

Give the Gift of YOURSELF!
Give the Gift of LOVE!
Give the Gift of Compassion, Truth and Understanding.


I don't want another Kitchen utensil that I won't end up using because I am not into that new fangled kitchen stuff, Hell I hardly use a Microwave!

I don't want a Sweater that itches, or doesn't fit right.

I don't want Bubble bath or skin lotion or anything that has to go on my body because, I have delicate skin and I am allergic to anything with fragrance in it as a lot of people are.

You know what the most perfect Christmas Gift someone could give me is??

THEMSELVES!!

If they can't give of themselves then do something nice for someone else in my name.

Donate the money they would spend on some stupid gift and give it to the Food Bank or Animal Shelter or the Homeless Shelter.

So this year instead of wasting money, which is tight every where, buying a gift that someone really won't appreciate anyway, Give them a Card with a Donation slip in where it was donated in their name.

GIVE THE MEANING OF THE REASON FOR THE SEASON BACK TO WHAT IT REALLY MEANS!!!!!!

I haven't been around for a bit, Haven't had the opportunity to get many shots with 15-20 below zero temps, it's a little rough for me to get out and about.
